Humingi ng paumanhin ang Department of Education (DepEd) kay Angel Locsin dahil sa learning module na naglarawan sa aktres na "obese" o mataba. Pero para kay Angel, kaya niyang palampasin ang pang-iinsulto pero hindi ang kalidad ng pagtuturo sa mga mag-aaral.
Ayon sa DepEd-Occidental Mindoro division, ang naturang module na kumalat sa social media ay ginawa ng guro sa Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH).
"But it was not contained in the self-learning module developed and quality assured by the Central Office," ayon kay Occidental Mindoro division superintendent Roger Capa.
"We would like to express our sincerest apology to the concerned individuals who may have been offended or harmed by this incident," dagdag pa niya.
Giit pa ni Capa, hindi kinukonsinte ng Department of Education ang "body shaming."
"DepEd does not tolerate nor condone any act of body shaming, ad hominem or any similar act of bullying both in the physical and virtual environments," paliwanag pa ng opisyal.
Nakipag-ugnayan na umano ang opisyal sa kinauukulang guro at tiniyak na masusing tutukan ang naturang usapin.
Maraming netizens ang hindi natuwa sa naturang sa learning module na kumukutya umano sa pangangatawan ng aktres.
“Angel Locsin is an obese person. She, together with Coco Martin, eats fatty and sweet food in Mang Inasal fast food restaurant most of the time. In her house, she always watching television and does not have any physical activities,” nakasaad viral photo ng module.
Nais ni Angel ng accountability
Ni-repost ni Angel ang pahayag ng DepEd sa social media at iginiit na hindi ang pangangatawan niya ang usapin sa module kung hindi ang kalidad na edukasyon na ibinibigay sa mga mag-aaral.
“I don’t mind the insults. Cheap comments do not define who I am,” saad ng aktres sa caption ng post.
Paliwanag ng aktres, handa na sana niyang palampasin ang isyu hanggang sa nabasa niya ang paliwanag ng DepEd na tila dumidistansiya sa kontrobersiyal na module.
“I intended to ignore the issue, but when I read DepEd’s statement, aba teka lang,” aniya. “What bothers me most is apart from teaching incorrect grammar to the students, DepEd seems unaffected that the said teacher is teaching bad conduct and sowing discrimination among the children.”
“Anong mangyayare sa future kung ang mga kabataan ay tinuturuan ng pambabastos at pangungutya sa kapwa?” patuloy niya.
Ayon kay Angel, dapat magkaroon ng pananagutan ang DepEd at ituwid ang pagkakamali para sa kapakanan ng milyon-milyong kabataan.
