Nagluluksa ngayon ang showbiz industry sa pagpanaw ni Lily Monteverde, ang matriarch ng Regal Entertainment. Siya ay 84-anyos.

Kinumpirma ni UP Fighting Maroons head coach Goldwin Monteverde sa text message sa GMA News Online, ang malungkot na balita tungkol sa pagpanaw ng kaniyang ina.

Kilala bilang si "Mother Lily" sa showbiz industry, pinamahalaan ni Monteverde ang Regal Films sa paggawa ng mga blockbuster movie, kabilang ang iconic na "Mano Po" anthology at "Shake, Rattle & Roll."

Nangyari ang pagpanaw ni Monteverde, ilang araw matapos na sumakabilang-buhay din ang kaniyang mister na si Remy noong July 29.

Sa social media, dumagsa ang pakikiramay sa mga naulila ni Mother Lily at nagpahayag ng kalungkutan sa kaniyang pagpanaw.

"My last project with Regal Films was 'Mano Po,' where my character's name was Lily Chua because Mother Lily requested it. I started as a Regal baby, and I owe her big time. I wouldn't be where I am now if it weren't for her. Thank you for making a dream come true." Rest In the arms of our Creator Lord Jesus," saad sa post ni Aiko Melendez.

Inihayag naman ng aktor na si Senador Lito Lapid sa kaniyang post, "Isang taus-pusong pakikiramay sa buong pamilya ng aking Producer at mentor na si Mother Lily. Sumalangit nawa ang iyong kaluluwa kasama ang ating Poong Maykapal. Paalam, Mother Lily!,"

Nag-post naman ang aktor na si Senador Bong Revila ng video nang bisitahin niya noon si Monteverde.

"Almost a year ago noong binisita ko sya… I hope you’re in the most peaceful place now, Mother Lily. We will miss you dearly. We love you very much!," saad ni Revilla sa caption.

Si direk Joey Reyes, inilahad sa post sa Facebook ang malaking tulong sa kaniya ni Mother Lily para makapag-simula sa industriya bilang screenwriter.

"If not for her, I would not be here.  I would not be who I am today. She was the first who took the risk of hiring me as a screenwriter for a movie in 1979," ani direk Joey.

"Goodbye, Mother Lily. As I whispered to you yesterday by your hospital bed ... Thank you so much for all you have done for me and so many others. Ikaw ang ikalawang nanay ko.  Mahal na mahal na mahal kita. Sige na, rest ka na," ayon pa sa direktor. —FRJ, GMA Integrated News
