Nagpasalamat si Heart Evangelista sa pagiging supportive at mapagmahal ng kaniyang asawang si Senador Chiz Escudero para malagpasan nila ang gusot sa kanilang pagsasama.
Sa “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” nitong Biyernes, hindi na nagdetalye pa si Heart sa pinagdaanan nila ni Chiz, ngunit kinumpirma niya na may pinagdaanan silang pagsubok.
“I feel like at the end of the day, not just with marriages, friendships, with people you work with, everybody goes. through problems. I felt that as individuals, even if you’re married or even if you’re committed to someone or a friend or whatever. You really have to go through certain things and deal with them alone, and really ponder what you want in life,” sabi ni Heart.
Gayunman, patuloy umanong nirespeto ng kaniyang mister ang kaniyang mga ginagawang desisyon sa buhay.
“The nice thing about being in a marriage with Chiz is that he is always respected the many seasons of my life that I’m going through. Like I said with my parents, people can’t expect me to fast forward the chapters of my life just so I can understand where they are at,” saad ng Kapuso fashion icon.
Ipinagpasalamat ni Heart ang karanasan at karunungan ng kaniyang asawa, na mahigit 15 taon ang tanda sa kaniya.
“Chiz and I, he is 15 years older than me and I’m a late bloomer. There are some things that I discovered. And that’s why it works kasi he’s so supportive. And I really appreciate him because of that, and his love was very unconditional. That’s why we’re okay.”
Binalikan din ni Tito Boy ang panahon na nagkaroon din ng hindi pagkakaunawaan noon sina Chiz at mga magulang ng aktres.
“It wasn’t just with Chiz. It was throughout my life,” pagklaro ni Heart.
Ngayong tumatanda na siya, naunawaan na raw ni Heart kung bakit siya pinoprotektahan ng kaniyang mga magulang.
“I think it’s because, I mean, now that I am where I am today ako lang siguro ang makaiintindi kung bakit nila ako gustong protektahan nang gano’n. For them, even if it went beyond, it was about loving their daughter," saad ni Heart.
"And now that I’ve seen the world naiintindihan ko naman din kung bakit nila nagawa ‘yung mga bagay-bagay na ‘yun. But I couldn’t possibly fast forward the chapters of my life and not have what I felt I needed at that time and experienced that. So naging conflict siya,” patuloy niya.
Ngayon, napagtanto niya ang lahat bilang, "A mother’s love, a father’s love, and their fears for their child."
Nang mga panahong iyon, mas pinili ni Heart na sundin ang kaniyang mga magulang, bagay na iginalang ni Chiz.
“In all fairness kay Chiz, he wasn’t the only one. I lost a lot of great people in my life because I chose my parents’ happiness. I felt like I was being a good daughter for being that way, but it was Chiz’ maturity, his wisdom, his experiences in life that set him apart from everybody else,” saad niya.
“He was quiet. He didn’t rebel and he waited for time to heal all wounds. Confident siya na in time, makikita nila na naging maayos naman ‘yung buhay ko,” kuwento pa ni Heart.
Binalikan din ni Heart ang isang pagkakataon kung saan nagbigay si Chiz ng pagkakataon para makapag-usap ang aktres at ang kaniyang mga magulang.
“Wala kaming pinag-usapan na anything. Walang sorry na naganap. He left the house first para magka-moment kami. And then when he came, parang walang nangyari. Everything is in place,” balik-tanaw niya.
