“After I left showbiz nag-Bangkok muna ako. You know, work and pleasure. When I left show business around 2001, lumipat muna ako ng Cebu, I stayed there for around a year ... Noong lumipat ako ng Cebu, I considered myself ‘retired.’ Offers were coming in, nire-reject ko,” kuwento ni Red sa online talk show na “Just In.”
“Ever since I got here in the US I’ve been in the hotel industry. Currently for the past around eight years I’ve been a general manager for hotels. A lot of travelling,” saad niya.
“I’m just acting as if I know what I’m doing,” biro ni Red, na inalala ang kaniyang pinagdaanan bago maabot ang kaniyang success doon.
“I worked my way up. Nag-start ako as a front desk agent. And then after a few months, assistant general manager, and I stayed in that role for quite a while, then nag-general manager ako.”
Para kay Red, “once work feels like ‘work,’ then it means it’s time to go. Kasi you’re not enjoying anymore eh, if it feels like work already, then it means it’s time to go. I think that’s one reason why I left show business, it was just time to move on.”
