Pormal na tinanggap nina Jennylyn Mercado at direktor na si Dominic Zapata ang "Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year" award para sa Pinoy adaptation ng "Descendants of the Sun" na ibinigay ng 15th Seoul International Drama Awards.
Inihayag nina Jennylyn at Dominic ang kanilang pasasalamat sa committee ng Seoul International Drama Awards sa isang pre-recorded message na ibinahagi ng Korean network na MBC sa kanilang YouTube channel.
"I would like to thank Seoul International Drama Awards for awarding our show 'Descendants of the Sun' the Most Popular Foreign Drama for 2020,” ani Jen.
"We are so sorry we couldn't make it to the awards ceremony but nonetheless it's truly an honor that our love and passion of telling stories through television is recognized internationally,” dagdag pa niya.
Sabi naman ni direk Dominic sa award-giving body; "On behalf of the creative team, staff and crew and the management of GMA Network Philippines, thank you so much to the Seoul International Drama Awards for this honor. Kamsahamnida! Maraming salamat po,"
Natanggap naman ni Dingdong Dantes ang presihiyosong Asian Star Prize mula rin sa Seoul International Drama Awards sa pagganap niya bilang si Captain Lucas Manalo o “Big Boss” sa Pinoy adaptation ng hit Korean drama series.
Kasama rin sa cast sina Rocco Nacino, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Lucho Ayala, Paul Salas, John Lucas, Prince Clemente, Pancho Magno, na mga sumailalim sa ilang buwan ng matinding pag-eensayo para sa kanilang mga role.
Kinailangan din nilang sumailalim sa lock-in taping sa gitna ng ipinatutupad na quarantine protocols sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
