Dinaluhan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang pagsasanib-puwersa ng kaniyang partido na Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) at ang Lakas-CMD ng kaniyang pinsan na si House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, para paghandaan ang May 2025 midterm elections.
Ginanap ang pirmahan ng alyansa ng dalawang partido sa Makati City na sinaksihan din ni Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, president emeritus ng Lakas-CMD, at ilang mambabatas at lokal na opisyal.
Bago ang pirmahan, sinabi ni House Deputy Speaker Jayjay Suarez, na maglalagay ng common senatorial candidates at local candidates ang PFP at Lakas-CMD sa darating na halalan sa 2025.
“Lakas has 100 members in Congress, we have the biggest [membership] and we are getting bigger, stronger. We look forward to our alliance with PFP for the upcoming elections [in May 2025]. This is part of our preparations for the 2025 midterms,” sabi ni Suarez sa press conference.
“Magkakaroon po kami ng common slate sa Senate [2025 polls]. Definitely, will also have a harmonious slate when it comes to local elections,” dagdag nita.
Sinabi ni Suarez na pareho ang values, interests, at ideologies ng dalawang partido.
“This [alliance] is for us to be attuned with policy directives of the President,” pahayag niya. “This will strengthen our position in ensuring that proper legislation is being implemented in the country.”
Layunin sa ginawang pagsasanib-puwersa ng dalawang partido na buuin ang “Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
“In view of the shared vision of the PFP and Lakas-CMD, the parties have agreed to forge this alliance that will pave the way for strength and continued positive change for the country to usher in a Bagong Pilipinas,” nakasaad sa kasunduan.
Si South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. ang pumirma para sa PFP, habang si Romualdez naman ang pumirma para sa Lakas-CMD.
