Sinita at tinekitan ang convoy ni dating Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson matapos na dumaan sa EDSA busway, ayon sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Ayon sa ulat ni Allan Gatus sa Super Radyo dzBB, nitong Lunes, sakay ng isa sa mga sasakyan si Singson.

“Tayo naman po, we are just enforcing kung ano po 'yung tama. As long as you are not authorized to use the bus lane talagang huhulihin po natin 'yan. We have to be fair. We have to implement what is right po,” sabi ni MMDA special operations group - strike force head Gabriel Go.

Ayon kay Go, wala naman naging problema kay Singson nang isyuhan ng violation ticket.

Walang pang pahayag si Singson kaugnay ng insidente.

Simula noong November 2023, nagpatupad ng mas mabigay na multa ang MMDA sa mga motoristang dadaan sa EDSA bus lane.

Sa MMDA Regulation No. 23-002, ang mga lalabag na sasakyan--pribado at pampubliko ay magmumulta ng:

  •     First offense – P5,000
  •     Second offense – P10,000 plus one month suspension of driver’s license, at sasailalim sa road safety seminar
  •     Third offense – P20,000 plus one year suspension of driver’s license
  •     Fourth offense – P30,000 plus recommendation to Land Transportation Office for revocation of driver’s license.
