Nagkompirma na umano na dadalo sa ikalawang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. sa Lunes, July 24, si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“Yes, nag-confirm na [si Duterte], pati iyong anak niya, si [Vice President Sara Duterte], nag-confirm rin,” sabi ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco nang makapanayam ng media nitong Miyerkules.
Kamakailan lang ay iniulat ang pakikipagkita ng nakatatandang Duterte kay Chinese President Xi Jinping sa China.
Nitong Martes, inihayag ni Marcos na batid niya ang naturang pagtungo ni Duterte sa China. Umaasa siya na ibabahagi ng dating pangulo ang mga napag-usapan nila ni Xi na may kinalaman sa interes ng Pilipinas.
Samantala, hindi pa masabi ni Velasco kung magiging magkatabi sa upuan ang mag-amang Duterte sa VIP gallery.
“Kailangan kasi may clearance sa dalawa. Mapapansin niyo, ngayon kini-clear kasi namin sa mga VIP kung okay sa 'yo na katabi mo ito, ganyan. As much as possible we want them to be comfortable,” paliwanag ni Velasco.
“Sometimes, we have to adjust. For some reason, gusto nila kasama iyong asawa nila, o iyong caregiver sa likod. We have accommodated all these types of requests. I have attended many SONA, I know the sentiments of all types of guests,” dagdag pa niya.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Velasco na ang VIP gallery ay nakareserba para sa former Presidents and Vice Presidents, former First Ladies, maging sa mga former Senate Presidents at ex-Speakers, members of the diplomatic corps, bisita ng First Family, Senate President at Speaker.
Ang dating pangulo, dating speaker at ngayo'y Pampanga Representative na si Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, sinabing mas gustong puwesto sa VIP section sa SONA ni Marcos.
Bilang miyembro ng Kamara at deputy speaker, maaari ding pumuwesto si Arroyo sa plenaryo.
“But we were told that she preferred to be seated at the center," ani Velasco.
Kinumpirma naman ni Arroyo na nais niya sa VIP section nang tanungin ng mga mamamahayag.
"Yes, as I do every SONA," sabi ng dating pangulo.
Kaugnay nito, sinabi rin ni Velasco na magkakaroon ng special room ang mga bisita na may comorbidities at mga elderly.
“We can accommodate more guests if need be, and there is one function room for types of guests who have medical conditions and seniors, meaning those aged 65, 70 above,” anang lider ng Kamara.
“We have a lot of guests who already informed us they are in favor of such setup since it is convenient. They will also have simple merienda, coffee and water," dagdag nito. --FRJ, GMA Integrated News
