Inihayag ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Lunes na hindi na itinuturing person of interest si Julian Ongpin sa kaso ni Bree Jonson, na natagpuang patay sa tinuluyang kuwarto La Union resort noong Setyembre.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ng PNP na batay sa isinigawang imbestigasyon ng pulisya ay walang indikasyon ng foul play sa naging pagkamatay ni Jonson.
“Julian Ongpin isn’t anymore a person of interest to the case since police investigation yielded no sign of foul play to the incident,” ayon sa pulisya.
Handa rin umano ang PNP na makipagtulungan sa Department of Justice (DOJ) sa isinasagawa nitong hiwalay na imbestigasyon.
Ayon sa PNP, itinigil muna ng DOJ ang imbestigasyon sa kaso ni Jonson dahil sa hiniling ng kagawaran ang resulta ng DNA result na isinagawa ng pulisya.
“We will advise PRO1 and the Forensic Group to respond to the request of DOJ regarding the DNA Report,” ayon kay PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos.
“Rest assured that we will cooperate with DOJ, should there be additional queries and requests for documents,” dagdag niya. — FRJ, GMA News
