Isang guro na nakatalaga bilang support staff sa electoral board sa Negros Occidental ang binaril at napatay sa Himamaylan City nitong Linggo ng gabi.
Inihayag ng Philippine National Police's Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) nitong Lunes, na nangyari ang insidente dakong 8:30 pm nitong Linggo habang pauwi na ang mga biktima sa Barangay Caradio-an.
Sinabi ni PRO public information officer chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, na kasama ng biktimang guro na si Mercy Miguel ang kaniyang asawa na si Alvin.
“Pinaputukan po yung mag-asawa and itong babae si Ma’am Mercy Miguel, tinamaan po sa tiyan. Sa masamang palad, binawian po siya ng buhay,” si ni Solin sa press conference.
Dinala ang guro sa Governor Valeriano M. Gatulsao Memorial Hospital pero idineklarang dead on arrival.
Nakaligtas naman ang asawa ng guro.
Apat na basyo ng bala mula sa kalibre 9 mm na baril ang nakita sa pinangyarihan ng insidente.
Iniutos naman ni PRO6 director Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo sa Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Director na masusing siyasatin ang nangyaring pamamaril.
“I already gave instruction to the Provincial Director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Police Colonel Leo B. Pamittan to conduct a thorough investigation on this incident to determine the motive and to identify the suspect/s,” saad ng opisyal sa pahayag.
“And once the perpetrators are identified, immediately appropriate charges must be filed against them,” dagdag niya. — FRJ, GMA News
