Like I said it was a collective effort. Kung si Joey man was part of creating the idea, it shouldn't just stop there kasi siyempre the chairman will approve everything,” sabi ni Jalosjos, na tinutukoy ang ama niyang si Romeo Jalosjos Sr.
“There were different names that they thought of, hindi lang naman Eat Bulaga yung lumabas na idea, marami pang ibang could have been names, pero my dad chose ‘Eat Bulaga.’”
“As far as the company is concerned legally, we own the trademark, we own the show, we own the name, so hindi po talaga puwedeng makuha sa amin ‘yon,” dagdag ni Jalosjos.
“Parang bahay ‘yan eh. Kapag umalis ka ng bahay, you can’t bring the number of your house kung nasaan ka lumipat,” giit ni Jalosjos.
“I will leave it to lawyers, pero kami, nagpakita kami ng mga papel, all the evidence to prove na contrary to their side na ang palagi lang nilang sinasabi na sila ang gumawa nito, sila ang gumawa ng ganiyan, let’s also owe it to the people na tumulong naman to create it.”
“I don’t think you need to be a lawyer or an expert to understand na during time of employment, whether you are a creative or you produced a name, you produced a song or an idea within time of employment sa isang kumpanya, everything na lumabas diyan is the property of the company, dahil binabayaran ka noon eh,” giit ni Jalosjos.
“At the end of the day we have to look back into the records and paperwork, and kung sino talaga ang nag-register ng trademark, doon talaga iyon, may batas tayong sinusundan.”
“Of course. Like I said I would leave it to our legal team, pero that is already trademark infringement. Hindi naman po namin puwedeng bitawan din ‘yun, hindi namin puwedeng sabihin out of respect, ‘Sige gamitin niyo na lang.’ Hindi eh, meron kaming rights, meron kaming kumpanya, the company has rights, has done all these things necessary… bakit namin bibitawan yun?” — DVM, GMA Integrated News
