Minaliit ni Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero ang usap-usapan ng may nagpaplano sa kaniyang mga kasamahang senador na palitan siya bilang lider ng kapulungan na tinawag niyang rumor o "tsismis."
“Media asked a member of the Senate about this rumor going around without quoting anyone…They interviewed SP Pro-Tempore [Jinggoy] Estrada and he denied it," saad ni Escudero.
"Now the quote coming out to support this rumor is an interview of Senator Jinggoy who denied it. I throw the question back at you, why should I comment on a rumor that the basis of which is a denial of the person you asked about a rumor?” tanong niya.
Sinabi pa ni Escudero na mahirap magkomento sa tuwing may lalabas na tsismis dahil walang partikular na personalidad na tinutukoy na pinagmulan nito.
“If you give me a name or a source that I can comment on then I would answer but I've learned, having been in politics for 24 years, not to comment on any rumor because if it's proven not to be true and correct, you would be the one left holding the ball,” dagdag niya.
Sa isang ulat ng GTV Balitanghali nitong Martes, sinabi ni Escudero na kalokohan ang umano'y planong kudeta laban sa kaniyang liderato.
"Diyos ko 'wag na. Papatululan ko pa ba mga kuwento ng kalokohan," saad ni Escudero.
Nitong Lunes, itinanggi ni Estrada at ilan pang senador ang tungkol sa sinasabing kudeta laban kay Escudeto.
“May haka-haka dito sa Senado na ako raw ‘yung papalit na Senate President. Hindi po totoo ‘yan at wala po akong balak,” ani Estrada.
“Nagtataka ako, nagugulat ako doon sa mga kumakalat na mga usap-usapan na papalitan na raw ang ating Senate President. Wala pong katotohanan ‘yan,” dagdag niya.
Naging lider ng Senado si Escudero nang mapatalsik naman sa naturang puwesto si Senador Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri noong Mayo.—FRJ, GMA Integrated News
