Bukod sa presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo, magkakaroon din ng pagtaas sa singil sa kuryente sa Marso.
Sinabi ng Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) nitong Huwebes, na P0.0625 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) ang madadagdag sa presyo ng kuryente, o overall rate na P9.6467/kWh.
Dahil dito, inaasahan na P13.00 ang madadagdag sa bayarin ng mga kumukonsumo ng nasa 200 kWh sa residential area..
Paliwanag ng Meralco, ang pagtaas sa singil ay dulot ng pagtaas sa presyo ng generation charge.
Mas mataas pa raw sana ang dagdag na singil sa Marso pero sabi ng Meralco, "the company took the initiative to cushion the impact in the bills of its customers by coordinating with some of its suppliers to defer collection of portions of their generation costs.”
“These deferred charges will subsequently be billed on a staggered basis over the next three months as directed by the ERC,” dagdag nito.
Inihayag din ng Meralco na mayroon ding ipinatutupad na karagdagang Distribution Rate True-Up refund.
Matatandaan na inaprubahan ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) noong 2021 ang mungkahi ng Meralco na refund ng P13.9 bilyong distribution-related charges.
Ang rate refund ay katumabas ng P0.2761/kWh sa residential customers na sinimulan noong March 2021, ayon sa Meralco. --FRJ, GMA News
