Inihayag ng human rights lawyer na si Chel Diokno na muli niyang susubukan na tumakbo sa halalan sa 2022 pero hindi pa niya alam kung anong posisyon.
Kabilang si Diokno sa anim na pangalan na inilabas ng opposition coalition na 1Sambayan na pinagpipilian nilang maging kandidatong pangulo at bise presidente.
“It's difficult now to make a final decision about what position, and I never aspired for President or VP, which 1Sambayan has nominated me for. But I think it's important that ordinary Filipinos and the youth have a voice,” sabi ni Diokno sa tweet.
Ayon pa kay Diokno, maayos lang ang justice system sa bansa kung tutugunan ng mga taong nasa posisyon ang problema.
“I've been a lawyer for three decades, every day I work on my Free Legal Helpdesk, and I've seen it firsthand. I know how we should fix our justice system,” dagdag niya.
Tumakbong senador si Diokno noong 2019 midterm elections sa ilalim ng oposisyon na Otso Diretso pero hindi nanalo.
Bukod kay Diokno, kasama sa listahan ng pinagpipilian ng 1Sambayan sina Vice President Leni Robredo, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Senator Grace Poe, CIBAC party-list Representative Eduardo Villanueva, at Batangas Representative Vilma Santos-Recto.— FRJ, GMA News
