Iniimbestigahan ngayon ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang paggamit ng isang dayuhan ng police uniform bilang costume sa Christmas party.
Sa press briefing nitong Lunes, sinabi ni PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, na inaalam ngayon ng mga imbestigador kung saan nakuha ng dayuhan ang uniporme ng pulis.
“We will have to check how this person procured the set of uniform he wore. Should we file a case? I will leave that to the investigator handling the case,” ayon kay Fajardo.
Dayuhan umano at executive ng isang automobile manufacturing company ang nagsuot ng police uniform sa Christmas party.
“I am not sure if he knows there are existing laws. Let us be aware that while this may have been intended for fun, it does not sit well with the PNP, considering that a PNP uniform was used,” dagdag ng opisyal.
Nagpaalala si Fajardo sa publiko na ipinagbabawal sa batas at maaaring maparusahan ang hindi tamang paggamit ng uniporme ng pulis, insignia, o uniporme ng mga awtoridad.
Nakasaad sa Article 179 ng Revised Penal Code na: “A penalty of arresto mayor shall be imposed upon any person who shall publicly and improperly make use of insignia, uniforms, or dress pertaining to an office not held by such person or to a class of persons of which he is not a member.” —mula sa ulat ni Joviland Rita/FRJ, GMA Integrated News
