Pinalawig pa ng Taiwan ang ipinagkakaloob nilang visa-free privilege para sa mga Pilipino hanggang sa susunod na taon.
Ayon sa Ministry of Foreign Affairs ng Taiwan, maliban sa mga humahawak ng diplomatic o official/service passports, magpapatuloy ang visa exemption program para sa mga Pinoy na nais manatili sa Taiwan ng hanggang 14 na araw na magsisimula sa August 1, 2023.
Kasama rin sa 14-day visa-free privilege ang mga taga-Brunei at Thailand na tatagal ang implementasyon hanggang July 31, 2024.
''Holders of Brunei, Philippines and Thailand passports must have: A proof of accommodation (hotel) booking, host/sponsor's contact information and sufficient travel funds,'' ayon sa Bureau of Consular Affairs ng Taiwan.
Ginawa umano ito kasunod ng masusing pagsusuri sa kasalukuyan nilang visa at entry measures tungkol sa visa-free entry program trial para sa mga mamamayan ng Thailand, Brunei, at Pilipinas.
''After evaluating the effectiveness of the above convenience measures over the past years and considering the need to revive mutual bilateral exchanges and tourism in the postpandemic era, participating agencies decided to extend the trial visa-free entry measure for one year,'' ayon sa kanilang Foreign Affairs ministry. —FRJ, GMA Integrated News
