Himalang maituturing ang pagkakaligtas ng isang 62-anyos na diabetic na nanatiling buhay matapos matabunan ng guho sa loob ng 187 oras kasunod ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol sa Turkiye. Ang isa sa kaniyang naging paraan para mabuhay, ang inumin ang sarili niyang ihi.

Sa ulat ng GMA News Feed, kinilala ang survivor na si Huseyin Berber.

Kuwento ni Berber, nasa ground floor siya ng kaniyang bahay nang tumama ang malakas na lindol.

Bumagsak ang pader ng bahay ni Berber ma mabuting tumukod sa refrigerator at tukador kaya nagkaroon siya ng espasyo sa ilalim ng guho.

“In a second tremor, the ceiling collapsed, but it did not touch me. I immediately slouched, sat down. The wall fell over on to fridge and the cabinet. I was stuck there. There was a rug. I took that and put it over me,” sabi ni Berber.

“At that time there was water dripping from somewhere. I saw there was an armchair, I climbed over it, took the rug and sat there and waited,” pagpapatuloy niya.

Sa kabutihang palad din, mayroon siya noong dalang bote ng tubig, at nahulog sa kaniyang direksyon ang kaniyang mga gamot sa diabetes.

Walang pagkain si Berber at tinipid niya ang hawak na tubig, ngunit naubos din ito makalipas ang ilang araw.

“I peed in the bottle and let it rest. I drank it when it got cold. I saved myself with that,” sabi ni Berber.

Tinangka ni Berber na sumigaw at humingi ng tulong, hanggang sa maubusan na siya ng boses.

Mahigit isang linggong nagtiis is Berber sa napakadilim na espasyo, hanggang sa may makita siyang siwang sa debris.

“Finally I saw that hole in the debris. When I heard the sounds (of rescuers), I shouted too. I shouted so loud that they heard my voice. Someone reached their hand out and it met with my hand. After that, they pulled me out from there,” sabi ni Berber.

Patuloy na nagpapalakas si Berber sa ospital.

Kahit nakaligtas siya, nagbabala ang mga espesyalista na hindi nila nirerekomenda ang pag-inom ng ihi para sa survival dahil mayroon itong toxic substances.
