Aalamin ng Palasyo sa Bureau of Internal Revenue at sa economic cluster ng mga impormasyon tungkol sa sinasabing utang sa estate tax ng pamilya Marcos na umaabot sa P203 bilyon.
"I will ask the commissioner of BIR about his stand on the issue," ayon kay acting presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar. "I will ask the economic cluster of the Palace. Obviously, the question is bordering on politics."
Nauna nang sinabi ni presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., na marami umanong "fake news involved" tungkol sa alegasyon ng ill-gotten wealth ng kaniyang pamilya.
Tungkol sa umano'y utang sa estate tax ng kaniyang pamilya, sabi ni Marcos, "They are just presumptions, they are not familiar with the cases or they choose not to be familiar with the case so yeah, it’s in the courts."
Sinasabing taong 1997 pa mayroon desisyon ang Korte Suprema tungkol sa paniningil sa naturang estate tax.
Inihayag naman kamakailan ng BIR na nagpadala na sila ng demand letter sa mga Marcos tungkol sa nasabing utang.— FRJ, GMA News
