Matapos ang mahigit 30 taon, magpapaalam na sa Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) ang koponan ng Alaska.
Inanunsyo ng The Aces ngayong Miyerkules, na tatapusin na lamang nila ang kasalukuyang PBA Governors' Cup.
Sa kasalukuyan, nasa ika-anim na puwesto sa kompetisyon ang Alaska na may 3-2 win-loss card.
"We thought long and hard before making this final decision. However, we believe that this will allow us to refocus our resources on providing affordable nutrition for Filipino families," ayon kay AMC chairman Fred Uytengsu sa isang pahayag.
"The Aces franchise will always be very special to me. I had the good fortune of starting this franchise at the age of 24 and learn so much about the team dynamics and building championship teams from players and coaching staff," dagdag niya.
Sa 36 na taon sa liga, nakakuha ng koponan ng 14 championships, kasama ang grand slam noong 1996 sa ilalim ni coach Tim Cone.
Nakapasok din ang Alaska sa 31 finals at nakalikha ng mga basketball legends tulad nina Johnny Abarrientos, Jojo Lastimosa, Jeff Cariaso, at Sonny Thoss.
