Endometrial cancer ang ikinamatay ng 59-anyos na batikang aktes na si Cherie Gil.
Ayon ito sa pahayag ng pamilya na ipinost sa Instagram ng kaniyang anak na si Raphael Eigenmann Rogoff.
Oktubre 2021 nang matuklasan umano ang sakit ng aktres nang magpasya itong manirahan na sa New York kasama ang kaniyang mga anak.
"Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October of last year after deciding to relocate to New York City to be closer to her children," sabi sa pahayag.
"She then underwent treatment at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York," patuloy nito. "She spent her last days surrounded by family and loved ones."
Ang aktres na rin umano ang humiling na maging pribado ang paglaban niya sa sakit.
"Cherie fought bravely against her illness, with grace and strength. Despite her struggles, she always managed to exude courage and never lost her trademark sass, with, and infectious humor, or her larger-than-life personality," saad pa sa pahayag.
"In the end, there are no words - only love. Cherie lived with all her heart," patuloy nito.
Nagpasalamat ang pamilya sa lahat ng nagpahayag ng pagmamahal at suporta sa aktres.
Sa caption ng pahayag, nag-iwan din ng mensahe si Raphael para sa pinakamamahal niyang ina, "Words cannot express my love for you, Momma. I'm so proud of you." —FRJ, GMA News
