San Beda, Arellano, and Benilde-LSGH figure in a 3-3 logjam, while JRU and San Sebastian are near bottom at 2-4. LPU– still winless in their campaign, is currently last in the standings.

San Sebastian Staglets vs EAC Brigadiers
EAC won, 76-73.

EAC remains a dangerous contender in the #NCAA100 Juniors Basketball tourney as they improved to 4-2 with a slim win over San Sebastian, banking on an all-around showing by Season 99 Mythical Five member EJ Castillo.

Castillo was stellar from both ends of the floor, dropping 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals on 52% field goal shooting.

Despite leading for most of the game, a nine-point lead entering the fourth didn’t feel safe at all for the Brigadiers, who had to contain the Staglets’ fightback.

With under four minutes left, the lead was cut down to 2, but crucial baskets from Gedrick Luna, Clint Bonus, and Kelly Coronel sealed the win for EAC. The Staglets went down to 2-4.

Arellano Braves vs Benilde-LSGH Greenies
Arellano won, 91-84.

Arellano stays in the middle of the pack after claiming their third win in six games, coming alive in the fourth to get rid of Benilde-LSGH.
Down five at the start of the final quarter, the Braves went on a 26-point scoring barrage while limiting the Greenies to only 14 points, spelling doom for their opponents from San Juan.

Johnray Ladica led the Braves infantry with 24 points and 4 boards, but received sizable contributions from Chris Dy (17p and 4r) and Axel Mendoza (13p and 12r).

The Greenies’ Guillian Quines was his usual self for Benilde-LSGH, scoring a game-high 26 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 9 assists in a losing cause for his squad, who dropped to 3-3.

Perpetual Junior Altas  vs JRU LIght Bombers
Perpetual won, 85-78.

In true Junior Altas fashion, it was total team effort from the boys of Coach Joph Cleopas that won them their fifth win of the season to claim solo first in the #NCAA100 Juniors Basketball, taking down JRU in the process.

The Junior Altas gave up their 15-point lead as the Light Bombers went to as close as within two courtesy of a Lee Marin floater, but relied on their endgame composure to overcome the ordeal.

Lebron Jhames Daep’s 15 points and 8 rebounds shone for Perpetual, but Jan Pagulayan. Jim Corpuz, and Jericho Cristino– all with 13 apiece– were just as pivotal for the maroon-and-gold.

Lee Marin top-scored for JRU with 24 points, but their fourth loss in six games has relegated them to the eighth spot.

San Beda Red Cubs vs Letran Squires
Letran won, 71-64.

Reigning NCAA Juniors kings Letran found their much-needed rhythm late in the game as they managed to stage a comeback victory over San Beda, powered by Jhuniel dela Rama’s double-double performance of 20 markers and 10 rebounds, laced with 2 assists and 2 steals.

Down 7 entering the fourth, the Squires turned the tide by locking in on defense and getting timely baskets from the likes of Syrex Silorio, Justin Cargo, and Daniel Padilla, finally overtaking the Red Cubs with the latter’s four-point play.

On the other side, Andrei Ugaddan’s 20 markers, Francis Dollente’s 17, and MJ Vailoces’ 10 just weren’t enough for San Beda to overcome the defending champs. The Red Cubs are tied with Arellano and Benilde-LSGH with identical 3-3 records.

LPU Junior Pirates vs Mapúa Red Robins
Mapúa won, 76-58.

Mapúa’s strong start paved the way for a comfortable 16-point advantage in the first half and never looked back, keeping LPU winless still in the #NCAA100 Juniors Basketball tilt.

The wire-to-wire victory was a welcome sight for the Red Robins who led by as much as 32 at one point in the game, moving to fourth in the standings with 4 wins and 2 losses.

Sharpshooter Ruzzel del Poso starred for Coach JR Dela Cruz with 15 points, 4 boards, and 2 dimes, while Sean Salvador, Dwyne Miranda, and Allan Laurenaria all scored in double digits– 12, 11, and 10 respectively.

The Junior Pirates fell to 0-6 following the loss.
