The Central Philippines State University (CPSU) Mighty Hornbills women's basketball team claimed victory in the 2024 Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (RSCUAA) Sports Festival in Barotac Nuevo town, Province of Iloilo.

It was a nail-biting 3x3 basketball tournament with a 13-12 win score over Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) Blue Marlins. 

Having only two university players that joined in the said event, a concluding championship game was held in Barangay Jalaud Covered Gym in Barotac Nuevo on Monday, December 16, 2024. 

The Mighty Hornbills emerged victorious after a potent swoop upon the Blue Marlins that tried their best to defend their waters. 

Exceptional skills and teamwork led to a gripping final match that left spectators on edge about the outcome.

Over 3,500 athletes, coaches, and officials have participated in the RSCUAA Sports Festival in Barotac Nuevo town, Province of Iloilo.

The 2024 RSCUAA Sports Festival opened on December 15, 2024.

At least 13 state universities in Western Visayas have started to compete in 42 sport events.

The 2024 RSCUAA Sports Festival will culminate on December 20, 2024.

Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology is this year's host.
