Joshua Guiab had a double-double outing, while Renz Bernardo and Shawn Argente starred as well, as Jose Rizal University defeated Emilio Aguinaldo College, 75-63, on Friday, October 4, 2024, in NCAA Season 100.

The game at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan gave both teams identical 3-5 win-loss records.

In a report by GMA Integrated News, the Heavy Bombers were leading 50-49 at the end of the third period before they made a 25-point romp in the final frame against EAC's 14 points.

JRU led by as much as 16, 75-59, late in the game after a Shawn Argente layup before Kyle Ochavo made back-to-back baskets for EAC.

"Simple lang ang game plan for today: us being competitive in all quarters," JRU head coach Louie Gonzalez said. 

"In the past losses, talagang we were competitive in three quarters but there's always a quarter na talagang sobrang laki ng diperensya na di na kami nakakabalik. We cannot put ourselves in that deep hole. That's why for today, good thing na through defense, naging competitive kami. Maganda ang quarter scoring ng game na ito. Guiab had 19 points and 12 rebounds, alongside two assists, while rookie Bernardo had 13 points. Argente, meanwhile, added 12 points as JRU bounced back after losing to Mapua University.

King Gurtiza had 15 points while Jude Bagay had 12 points for the Generals.

JRU will play De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde next on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, while EAC will face San Sebastian College-Recoletos.
