Gilas Pilipinas is now No. 34 in the FIBA world rankings, moving up four spots in the latest update as of August 10, 2024.
The latest ranking came after the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament and the 2024 Paris Olympics, according to a report by GMA News Online.
Paris Olympics gold medalist United States stayed in No. 1 while Serbia went up to No. 2. Germany remained at No. 3 while France moved up five spots to No. 4. Canada also moved two spots to No. 5.
Gilas pulled offan upset against Latvia during the FIBA OQT to book a semis slot despite losing to Georgia in their second game. The team, however, fell short, 71-60, in the game against Brazil, which propelled Brazilian team to the Paris Olympics.
