Top NCAA women’s volleyball teams, Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) and Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) will see action in the 39th Kadayawan Festival Women’s Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Davao City.

Letran and LPU will square off against De La Salle University that features Alas Pilipinas opposite hitter and Bacolodnon Angel Canino and Davao’s home team from August 1 to 4 at the University of Southeastern Philippines Gymnasium.

The teams will play each other in a single round robin format before the top two teams in the elimination round compete for the championship while the bottom two will contend in the battle for third.

Season 99 Freshman of the Year Gia Maquilang and Best Libero Lara Mae Silva will spearhead the Oliver Almadro-backed squad while 1st Best Middle Blocker Hiromi Osada and Best Opposite Spiker Janeth Tulang will be among the reliables for Cromwel Garcia’s side.

Letran finished first runner-up in the recent NCAA S99 after being swept by the three-peat champions Benilde Lady Blazers in the finals, while LPU suffered a heartbreaking five-set loss in the hands of Letran in the stepladder semifinals.
