The National Capital Region (NCR) emerged as the overall champion of the Palarong Pambansa 2024, held in Cebu City, concluding the event with a remarkable 98 gold, 66 silver, and 74 bronze medals.
Region 4A (CALABARZON) secured second place with 57 golds, 51 silvers, and 53 bronzes, while Region 6 (Western Visayas) closely followed with 56 golds, 41 silvers, and 41 bronzes.
Davao Region (Region 11) and Central Visayas (Region 7) rounded out the top five, showcasing strong performances across various events.

The NCR pulled off a thrilling comeback in the Football Secondary Boys championship, defeating Western Visayas 3-2 in extra time. Despite trailing 0-2 at halftime, NCR's team scored three goals to clinch one of the last gold medals of the event.
In baseball, Western Visayas emerged victorious in the Elementary Boys category, defeating CALABARZON 5-4 in an eight-inning match. This win dethroned CALABARZON, who held the title since Palaro 2023. Meanwhile, NCR triumphed over CALABARZON in the Secondary Boys category, adding to their gold medal tally.
CLOSING EVENT
The closing ceremony saw flags representing the different participating regions making their ceremonious exit, marking the end of a successful Palarong Pambansa 2024. The event celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among young athletes.
The event was marked by inspiring stories of athletes who showcased not only their skills but also their sportsmanship and dedication.
SOCCKSARGEN walkathon athlete Jerrymae Malinog and Central Visayas runner Asia Paraase were honored with the 'Most Inspiring Story' award.
Malinog, a Grade 10 working scholar from Kiahe Integrated School in Sarangani, became the first athlete from the Blaan Indigenous Cultural Community to represent Region 12.
Paraase, a 17-year-old track star, won two Palaro golds and touched hearts by assisting her competitors after races, demonstrating her sportsmanship and empathy.
As the Palarong Pambansa 2024 concluded, Ilocos Norte was announced to host the 2025 games and Agusan del Sur, the 2026 games.
