As the curtains fell on Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City on July 16, 2024, Ilocos Norte was announced as the host of the 2025 games.

The Department of Education (DepEd) used the slogan, "Agkikita tau diay Ilocos Norte!" or "See you in Ilocos Norte!" as the anticipation for another round of inspiring athletic performances continues to build.

Athletes, coaches, and delegations were invited to explore the UNESCO Heritage Site in Vigan, savor the famous Ilocos empanada and bagnet, and visit the historic Paoay Church.

Meanwhile, Agusan del Sur will host the games in 2026.

In the Cebu games, the final and official medal tally crowned the National Capital Region (NCR) as the overall champion of Palarong Pambansa 2024, with a haul of 98 gold, 66 silver, and 74 bronze medals.

The race for second place was intense, but CALABARZON secured the spot, followed closely by Western Visayas. Davao Region and the host region, Central Visayas, rounded out the top five.

Despite having smaller delegations, the National Academy of Sports (NAS) and Philippine Schools Overseas (PSO) also managed to secure medals.

Vice President Sara Duterte attended the closing ceremony, interacting with athletes and taking group photos.
