Carlos Miguel Nacario's impressive victories in the 400m and 200m sprint events have added two gold medals to CALABARZON's tally, strengthening their lead in the overall standings at #PalarongPambansa2024 in Cebu City.
His achievements have significantly boosted CALABARZON's medal count, contributing to their dominant position in the overall standings.
As of July 12, 2024, CALABARZON leads the medal tally with 29 gold, 13 silver, and 17 bronze medals, making them the top-performing region on day three of the competition.
Nacario, a standout athlete from Calaca Senior High School in Batangas, attributed his success to rigorous training and dedication.
Despite the challenges of late-night practices and concerns about potential injuries, he persevered.
"Training lang po, medyo napupuyat po minsan kasi naga overthink po minsan about the outcome in the Palarong Pambansa; and naga worry po ako sa [possible] injuries na mangyayari po sakin," Nacario said.
Expressing his joy and pride, Nacario said, "I'm really happy po na nakacontribute ako sa Region 4A CALABARZON and I'm really happy po na mauuwian ko ng gold medal ang family ko."
Nacario's accomplishments were made possible with the guidance and support of his coaches Geron L. Serrano, Leolito L. Dinco, Yourke F. Tamayo, and Richard R. Furuc.
