Speed. Power. Endurance. Strength.

These are just a few of the needed physical skills in the sport of rugby.

Rugby started in England through a football game. The sport is introduced gradually to the Province of Negros Occidental with the help of the Negros Island Rugby and Philippine Rugby Football Union.

Through a community-based program, the youth in the province converge to learn rugby skills and life skills for free.

The coaches are focused tightly on developing the character of players, especially on gender equality in matches.

Organizers expect that aside from adulation for basketball and other sports, rugby will encourage more Negrense youth to embrace a life in sports.

The coaches aspire rugby to be included in the sports events of the Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy.
