Four healthy babies were born at the Batangas City Medical Center as the year transitioned to 2024.
Edel Guillermo welcomed her baby girl, a long-awaited blessing for her family. She said they have been praying for Amara Faith for a while now.
"Ibig sabihin po ng Amara ay blessing po siya dahil 'yung panganay ko, ‘yung kuya niya, six years old na po bale matagal din po nasundan," she said.
Meanwhile, first-time mom Katleen Gonzales-Galman also experienced the joy of delivering a healthy baby girl.
Her labor began around 10 p.m. of December 31, 2023 and she cherished hearing her baby’s first cries just as fireworks signaled the New Year.
"Yung mga nandun sa loob ng emergency room sobrang tawa din po sila nung habang nilalabas ko ito, as in sila po yung mas excited. Masarap sa pakiramdam kasi success 'yung panganganak ko, new years baby nga tawag sa kanya," she said.
Dr. Loui Lee de Leon, Public Information Officer of Batangas City Medical Center, emphasized the importance of nurturing newborns, highlighting the significance of breastfeeding for their well-being.
"By 1-2 days upon observation, maari silang pauwiin. Always remember mothers, breastfeeding is still best for babies, always nurture your kids, always nurture your child," De Leon said.
