A man who disliked the taste of pork stew set allegedly his own house on fire in the Municipality of Balamban, Cebu Province on December 17, 2023.
Gerald Balsa, 39 years old, a resident of Sitio Sam-ang, Barangay Pondol, Balamban reportedly disapproved of the “linat-ang baboy” (pork stew) served by his mother that day.
He complained reportedly as to how it was cooked and how it tasted.
Balsa first set purportedly on fire his own foam mattress.
The fire incident hurt his 60-year-old mother, according to personnel of the Balamban Fire Station. Balsa’s mother was taken to the hospital.
No casualty was recorded in the incident.
