A farmer drowned after fishing in a river in Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur.
Authorities identified the victim as Elmer Mo, 37, resident of Barangay Old Mirapao, Dinas.
According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the victim and his companion went fishing by going underwater to shoot fishes with the use of bows and arrows.
His companion reportedly noticed that the victim failed to come out from the water and suddenly disappeared.
Members of the Bureau of Fire Protection launched immediately a retrieval operation and recovered the victim few hours later.
Authorities turned over the victim’s remains to his family.
