A giant green sea turtle, already in a state of decomposition, was found on the shore by residents of Barangay Cawit, Boac, Marinduque.
The residents reported the find to the PROVET-Marinduque Animal and Wildlife Rescue Emergency Response Team.
PROVET said the turtle is an adult female giant green sea turtle, weighing approximately 60 kilograms.
While authorities were unable to conduct a necropsy, residents believe the turtle may have become entangled in fishing gear, which led to its death.
