Police have rescued 10 victims of human trafficking and arrested three suspects in an entrapment operation in Iligan City.
The task force against Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children of Iligan City Police Office Women and Children Protection Desk arrested the manager, cashier, and a customer of an establishment that offers minors and adults for sexual exploitation.
Police said the establishment had been under surveillance after several information were reported that it facilitated the exploitation of minors for its clients.
Prior to the operation, an undercover police officer posed as customer and the cashier allegedly offered a minor for P3,600. This prompted the authorities to conduct the entrapment operation.
The suspects are now detained while the rescued victims were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development.
“PRO-10 remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of its community, especially minors. I urge everyone to report any incidents or illegal activities in their area of responsibility, especially if it involves minors,” Police Regional Office-10 Director, Brigadier General Ricardo Layug, Jr., said.
