With only weeks left before the 2025 midterm polls, election officers in Mangaldan, Pangasinan are working full speed to print IDs for support staff who will assist on election day.
Over 500 identification cards are set to be printed this week. These IDs will be distributed once the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) holds a briefing for the support staff.
“Nag-start na kami ng printing kasi kakailanganin talaga ito para sa kanilang pagkakakilanlan and official sila na poll workers,” Gloria Cadiente, Election Officer of COMELEC-Mangaldan, said.
Each ID shows the specific polling precinct where the staff member is assigned.
Meanwhile, COMELEC-Mangaldan reported zero violations of the campaign ban during Holy Week.
“Lahat naman sila compliant kasi maraming beses naman na kaming nagsabi sa kanila,” Cadiente added.
As election day nears, police have also stepped up their security checks across the province. Regular COMELEC checkpoints are active, and mobile patrols continue to ensure a peaceful vote.
“Mananatili kaming vigilant, magiging observant at magiging mabilis ang aming serbisyo especially na nalalapit na ang ating halalan,” PCPT. Aileen Catugas, spokesperson of the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office, said.
Authorities remind the public to follow election rules and expect increased police presence in the coming days.
