Buses traveling to La Union from Dagupan City will resume their original route through Herrero-Perez Street starting Saturday, April 12, 2025.

After completing road construction and the curing period, the city government of Dagupan has approved for the buses to use Herrero-Perez again.

This will benefit many students and workers, especially those commuting to and from La Union.

Buses heading to Dagupan will go straight to A.B. Fernandez East and turn right onto Herrero-Perez, instead of taking the longer Tebeng–Caranglaan road.

“Ibalik na sila doon kasi kawawa naman ang mga estudyante na napapadalawang sakay sila, ‘yung mga nanggagaling La Union,” Rexon De Vera, Assistant Chief of the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO)-Dagupan City, said.

Commuters like Brix Ocampo are relieved by the change, saying it saves both time and money.

“Kapag putol-putol kasi ang byahe namin, matagal. Mas okey na diresto, bababa nalang kami sa school,” Ocampo said.

Bus drivers like Jecson Gacad also welcomed the update. They said it eases their route and helps students avoid extra trips.

“Mas okay kasi kawawa talaga ang mga estudyante. At least hindi na sila mag-jeep,” Gacad said.
