The widow of slain Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo continues to hold on to hope for the extradition of former congressman Arnie Teves, Jr.

Pamplona Mayor Janice Vallega Degamo said she has held on to hope for the positive outcome of the Philippine government's appeal to the court in Timor-Leste for the extradition of Arnie Teves, alleged mastermind of the Roel Degamo slay in March 2023.

Mayor Janice said she was disheartened at the denial of the Timor Leste Court of Appeal for the extradition of the former congressman of the third district of Negros Oriental. Yet, the Degamo camp has continued to trust, along with the families of other victims in the Pamplona massacre, that Teves would be sent home to face trial.

The mayor said she and the families of the other victims have not given up hope despite the sad news.

“Imagine how many Times Leste sided with us, pero they were not able to return, sige lang tag endless appeal, way kahumanan nga appeal. Difficult but hopeful mi," the mayor added.
