Authorities arrested a 55-year-old Swedish national wanted in his home country for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl and committing financial fraud.
Agents from the Bureau of Immigration’s Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) and the NBI’s Violence Against Women and Children Division (VAWCD) raided the suspect’s residence in Pampanga, where he was caught by virtue of a mission order.
Authorities conducted surveillance for five days, monitoring the suspect’s Filipino contact who offered minors for abuse, allegedly.
Yehlen Agus, chief of NBI VAWCD, said.
The suspect denied the accusations.
“I have done nothing in Sweden. Fifteen days ago, I’ve been in an airport in Sweden. I didn’t know anything, and today I sit here, I still don’t know anything,” he said.
Authorities said he will be deported to Sweden immediately to face the charges against him.
