Five ash emission events that spanned from 17 to 102 minutes long were recorded at Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island within a 24-hour observation period.
According to an advisory, by 12 a.m. of Friday, April 4, 2025, of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the ash emission events generated 22 volcanic earthquakes, including six volcanic tremors.
Sulfur dioxide flux was recorded at 1,840 tons a day on April 3, 2025.
The ash emission events generated plumes of about 600 meters tall.
Ash drifted southwest and west-southwest of the volcano.
