A 25-year-old video logger (vlogger) known for his content creation handle as “Boy Tapang” (Ronie Suan in real life) spent hours in jail after his live-in partner accused him of domestic violence.

Suan, a resident of Alcoy town in southern Cebu Province, was arrested by personnel of Alcoy Municipal Police Station on March 31, 2025 after his common-law wife sought the assistance of the authorities.

The woman accused Suan of beating her up.

It was learned that the alleged mauling happened at about 5 p.m. on March 31, 2025. The suspect was arrested reportedly past midnight, or on April 1, 2025.

According to the complaint filed by Suan's live-in partner, the couple had a heated argument that led allegedly to the beating.

The victim added that the suspect hit her several times in previous fights because of jealous fits.

The two are in a domestic relationship for about a year already, and that the woman has recently given birth.

Charges for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004 were filed on April 2, 2025. In the afternoon of April 3, 2025, Suan or Boy Tapang posted bail.

Cebu Police Provincial Office Director, Police Colonel Jovito Atanacio, urged Suan’s common-law wife to pursue the case to avert further abuse.

Suan admitted they had a terrible fight but denied the beating.

“Yung problema namin napakaliit lang, problemang mag-partner lang talaga. Pero yung nagbuhatan ng kamay hindi yun tama. Yung binugbog ko daw, hindi totoo yan. Yung partner ko kasama ko yan dito [sa detention facility], binantayan niya ako,” Suan said in an interview with GMA Super Radyo Cebu.
