A 29-year-old man died after he was hit and run over by a bus in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
He was on the road during the incident and the bus driver reportedly tried to avoid him but to no avail. He died on the spot.
“Kahit anong kabig sa driver kay para dili lang siya masagasaan. (Natamaan) talaga ang ulo niya sa gulong, nagulungan talaga ang ulo niya,” Bukidnon Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Major Jayvee Babaan, said.
The bus driver was taken into police custody but was released on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, after the two parties reportedly reached an agreement.
Authorities learned that the man may have been suffering from depression. They reminded families who may be in a similar situation to seek professional help.
