The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-SOCCSKSARGEN (DENR-12) destroyed mining tools recovered from a mining site in Tampakan, South Cotabato.

DENR-12 personnel, the police, and the military conducted an anti-illegal mining operation in Barangay Tablu as part of its monitoring and commitment to stop illegal mining operations in the region.

Discovered in the area were abandoned makeshift shelters and mining tools, including hydraulic hoses used in illegal mining.

These mining paraphernalia were destroyed on site.

DENR-12 urged the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious mining activities to help protect the environment and preserve natural resources.

“Public support and cooperation are vital in preventing illegal mining activities and preserving natural resources for future generations,” DENR-12 said.
