Five men were arrested after they allegedly entered a cell site in Manolo, Bukidnon forcibly and carted away up to 24 batteries.

The suspects on board a truck were intercepted at a checkpoint in Barangay Tankulan after authorities received information about the robbery.

One of the suspects was found with a caliber .45 pistol and ammunition.

“It turns out nga katung isa katao nga naa sa kilid sa driver side, didto pud namo nabal-an nga naa diay syay armas, didto na-check gyud sa akong personnel nga nag-man diha sa checkpoint,” Manolo Foritich Municipal Police Station Chief, Lt. Col. Evary Bacunawa, said.

Investigators found that one of the suspects who served as the leader was a former roving guard of the cell site.

“Natangtang lang siya mao to kampante siya nga misulod atong area… even kinoral siya pero naa’y portion didto nga naguba gyud siya kato iyang barbwire,” Bacunawa said.

Each battery is worth around P25,000.

The suspects refused to comment. They will face robbery charges.

The man who was found with a firearm will also face charges for alleged illegal possession of firearms and for alleged violation of the election gun ban.
