Police and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) have started the investigation into the plane crash in Lingayen, Pangasinan involving a small Cessna plane, which killed two people.

The plane crashed into a vacant lot in Sitio Aliguas, Barangay Libsong East.

The victims were identified as a 31-year-old pilot from Baguio City and Bryan Allen Dela Cruz Ocang, a 25-year-old student pilot from San Ildenfonso, Bulacan.

Joseph Ocang, Bryan's father, expressed deep sorrow.

“Licensed AMT siya—aircraft maintenance. Gustong mag-pilot [nun]. Sobrang sakit, nag-iisa [ko] po siya [na anak],” he said.

The police have retrieved the plane’s engine to determine the cause.

PLTCOL. Amor Mio Somine, Chief of Lingayen Police Station, said CAAP is handling the investigation.

“Sa atin, investigation kung anong oras nangyari, identity of the victim. Further investigation, nasa kamay na ng CAAP. May sarili silang investigation body,” he said.

CAAP Area 1 Manager confirmed that their investigation is still ongoing, as of this writing.
