Four bullets were confiscated from a 47-year-old female passenger at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in Lapu-Lapu City.

The woman was bound for Tacloban City, Leyte.

The four bullets were found allegedly in her handcarry baggage.

Airport authorities said that when security screening was done on pieces of luggage owned by the said passenger, at about 1 p.m. on March 27, 2025, the X-ray machine detected objects resembling bullets.

Personnel of the Office of Transportation Security facilitated an ocular inspection on the items inside her bag, witnessed by personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Unit.

The four bullets were found in a pouch in her hand-carry bag.

Further, she failed reportedly to present documents that would support her possession of the ammunition.

She was arrested for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, and violation of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) gun ban.

She went through inquest proceedings on March 28, 2025, and is set to post bail on Monday, March 31, 2025.

As of this writing, the news team is yet to receive a comment from the woman who is also a resident of Lapu-Lapu City and who works reportedly as a Human Resource (HR) manager.
