A total of 42 persons were killed in over 1,000 road crash incidents in the Province of Iloilo from January 1, 2025 to March 24, 2025.
Police Major Rolando Araño, spokesperson of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), in an interview with GMA Super Radyo Iloilo, confirmed that over 40 persons were killed in a total of 1,082 road crashes in the said period.
Based on IPPO records, the incidents resulted in 674 cases of damage to property, 366 cases of physical injury, and 42 cases of homicide.
Reckless driving is cited as the lead cause of the road crash incidents.
Other causes include drunk driving, overspeeding, mechanical defects of vehicles, poor road condition, among others.
According to IPPO, motorcycles top the list of vehicles involved in road crashes.
