Supporters of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) in Cebu gathered in Danao City, where he takes paternal roots, to celebrate his 80th birth anniversary on March 28, 2025.

A unity ride to the boardwalk in Danao City evening on March 27, 2025 opened the “Mañanita Rally: Danawanons’ Birthday Tribute" to FPRRD. A mañanita is a way of celebrating a person’s birthday by serenading him at midnight or at dawn.

A freedom wall was mounted at the venue of the rally where supporters wrote birthday greetings for FPRRD.

At the stroke of midnight, the supporters sang the mañanita song, followed by the “Happy Birthday” song while holding cupcakes with lit candles.

Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte, son of FPRRD, in a recorded message, thanked pro-Duterte groups who initiated and participated in the event for the staunch support.

“Kamo nga mga nanggawas para mosuporta sa akong amahan, pagpakita nga di mosugot sa nahitabo, salamat kaayo sa inyoha. Kay dili namo kaya kung kami ra gyud sa tinuod lang. Pila ra mi kabuok, ako mayor ko sa Davao ang kalaban nato ani, ang kalaban namo, ani usa ka gobyerno, Presidente,” Baste said.
