With Holy Week fast approaching, devotees have started their annual pilgrimage to honor Senior Divino Tesoro in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
One of them is 64-year-old Aida Fernandez from San Carlos City, who visits multiple churches yearly as part of her devotion.
“Lakas ng katawan, [at] sana yung bansa natin, may katahimikan,” Fernandez said, praying for strength and peace in the country.
She is joined by her relative, Wilma Bautista, who has also visited churches in San Carlos, Binmaley, Sta. Barbara, and Lingayen.
“Sabi nga nila, 'With God nothing is impossible.' Huwag magsasawang tumawag kay Lord, hindi ka niya pababayaan,” Bautista said.
Meanwhile, Remalyn Flores and Geraldy Daguio, a young couple, visited the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, combining their devotion with a personal milestone.
As they celebrated their 51st monthsary, they also offered prayers for their dreams.
Flores, an aspiring teacher, hopes to pass the upcoming licensure exam.
“Para sa family ko. Pangarap ko. Para sa mga bata na mai-inspire ko in the future, bilang isang teacher,” she said.
Daguio, who will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday, also prayed for success and safety.
“Makasakay sa barko. Makapasa sa board exam niya. Tapos kaligtasan din po,” he said.
For many like them, visiting Calasiao’s church is not just an act of faith but also a meaningful part of their annual Visita Iglesia tradition.
