The Philippine National Police (PNP) is on heightened alert.

The PNP is on heightened alert as the local election campaign period starts on Friday, March 28, 2025, and for various activities during former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD)'s 80th birth anniversary.

Political parties are expected to stage rallies to mark the opening of the campaign period for local elective posts.

Pro-Duterte groups are also seen to initiate various activities for FPRRD’s 80^th birthday.

In Cebu, Duterte supporters have already announced of a “mañanita” (a way of celebrating a person’s birthday by serenading in the early morning) for FPRRD, and a unity ride, among other activities.

Supporters in neighboring provinces such as Bohol and Negros Oriental have also announced of various gatherings to mark Duterte's birthday.
