A 57-year-old motorcycle driver was killed in a car collision at the intersection of Iloilo Sunset Boulevard in Barangay Sooc, Arevalo District, Iloilo City.
The incident happened at 12:40 p.m. on March 25, 2025.
Police investigation had it that the motorcycle driver's crash helmet came off due to the impact. The motorcycle driver hit the pavement head first.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital, police said, but was pronounced dead on arrival due to fatal head injury.
It was learned that the motorcycle driver was headed for Barangay San Jose, Arevalo from Barangay Sooc Dako, while the car was traversing Iloilo Sunset Boulevard on an area in Barangay Cagbang, Oton town, Province of Iloilo when the two vehicles collided at an intersection.
The driver of the car is taken into the custody of the Philippine National Police in Arevalo.
He will be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
